Step #1. Once the real-time location sharing feature is available in Google Maps, update the app on your iOS device (App Store → Updates → Google Maps → Update). Then, launch it.

Step #2. Next, you need to tap on the menu button at the top left corner of the screen. Alternately, tap on the blue dot which represents your current location.

Step #3. Now, tap on the people icon at the top right corner.

Step #4. Next, you have to select how long you want to share your location.

Then, tap on Select people at the bottom left corner.

Step #5. Now, select the person with whom you want to share your location. Then, tap on Share at the bottom right corner.

Now, your friends will be notified about your location sharing. When they tap on the notification, the app will open showing your current location along with your profile picture.

Your friends can also see how long they can view your location. They can also share their location with you by turning on the switch next to Share your location.

Step #1. Open Google Maps on your iOS device.

Step #2. Tap on the menu button (looks like a small upward arrow) at the bottom right corner.

Step #3. Next, tap on Share trip progress.

Step #4. Now, you need to select the person with whom you wish to share the trip progress.
